The conference was aimed at providing a platform for travel agencies, tourism development businesses and private capital to seek cooperation opportunities, and to boost the tourism industry in Hebei province.

The event led to 38 tourism investment agreements worth 233 billion yuan ($34 billion) being reached. Over 300 tourism projects were promoted. Also issued at the conference was the Hebei Investment and Financing White Paper, which revealed that the province received 467 million tourists in 2016, generating annual revenue of $67.5 billion, representing growth of 25.5 percent and 35.6 percent year-on-year.

In addition, total investment in 1,414 tourism projects Hebei issued in 2016 was estimated to be $167 billion; out of which, $8.5 billion had already been spent by the end of the year.

Hebei’s tourism products are gradually moving beyond scenic sightseeing, with more and more products integrating sightseeing, cultural experiences and comfortable accommodation.

He also expressed his hopes that Hebei could seize the prime period of tourism development, improving its facilities and providing multiple products to boost its tourism market.
