A batch of potassium chloride imported from Laos has already reached Huanghua Port in Hebei province and cleared customs, Hebei Daily reported on June 14.
It was the first time Huanghua Port has imported potassium chloride since it commenced operations.
The imported potassium chloride is native to Laos, and it had been transported by the GAO XIN 6 cargo ship from a port in Vietnam.
The potassium chloride weighed 5,591 metric tons, and is valued at $1.22 million.
Potassium chloride has broad applications in sectors including agriculture, and the inorganic chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
