The flowers of Chinese medicinal herbs planted in Luanping county, Hebei province are currently in full bloom to welcome the approaching Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Chinese Medicinal Materials Industrial Development Conference, Hebei Daily reported on July 25.
Chinese medicinal herbs blossom into different colors and make the shapes of tai chi bagua (Eight Diagrams) and lunhua (flowers in a centrifugal radial pattern); and the diameter of the shapes can reach up to 100 meters.
The planting site of these Chinese medicinal herbs is located in Luanping county, Chengde city –– which was recognized as Yanshan Mountain Chinese Medicinal Materials Economic Demonstration Zone by the Hebei Provincial Government in 2014. It’s also the host site for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Chinese Medicinal Materials Industrial Development Conference that will be held by the end of July.
Luanping county has set itself the goal of achieving large-scale and standardized production of Chinese medicinal herbs, with the quality of the herbs guaranteed.
Currently, the planting area of Chinese medicinal herbs in Luanping county covers 100,000 mu (6,666.67 hectares); and by the end of 2020, the planting area will be expanded to 200,000 mu according to the development plan developed by the local authority. It is expected to bring in 1,250 yuan ($185) in extra income per person.
