A high-tech industrial park featuring alternative sources of energy, big data, and cloud computing, officially opened in Zhangjiakou city, Hebei province, on Sept 19, Hebei Daily reported.
Shanghai Zhangjiang-Zhangjiakou High-tech Industrial Park, which is located southeast of Zhangjiakou city, covers an area of 5.96 square kilometers. It began construction in July 2014, and will be totally completed by the end of 2024. The development of the park will complement the government’s Internet Plus strategy.
The park has convenient transportation, as it is adjacent to Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport, an expressway, and a high-speed railway station, linking Zhangjiakou to other cities across China.
At present, a total of 56 high-tech projects have decided to settle in the park, including well-renowned businesses and institutions such as Zhongguancun Internet Financial Center, Shanghai Jiuyou Fund Co and Rongtuo Electronics Co, which all signed cooperation agreements at the opening ceremony of the park held on Sept 19.

According to the development plan of the park, which is divided into three phases, it will introduce promising high-tech businesses and provide basic operational services for them from June 2017.
Until 2020, the park will operate several financial asset centers, and technological research and development centers, to assist the development of these industries.
By the end of 2024, construction of an asset securitization platform will be completed, which is expected to add industrial value, and earn revenue of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion).
Ma Yujun, mayor of Zhangjiakou city, attended the opening ceremony and expressed his hopes that the park will seize the opportunities for technological transformation and industrial upgrading, plus take advantage of innovation and entrepreneurship to build itself an industrial center and a gathering platform for highly-skilled workers. He also expressed his hopes that more businesses and merchants would come to invest in the park.
